Obituary of Lorraine Wells

WELLS: Lorraine Elsie Wells, passed away at Rideau Park Personal Care Home on June 29th, 2020 at the age of 96 years. Lorraine was born in Brandon, Manitoba on December 15th, 1923 to John Arnold Fisher and Elizabeth Fisher (nee Heatly). She is survived by her daughters, Marlene and Cheryl, and her brother, Elroy; four grandchildren, Sean, Brianna, Jonas and Jordon and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Jim; sister Margie and great grandchild, Alexander James Wells. Lorraine grew up on a farm near Justice, Manitoba and then near Wellwood, Manitoba. She grew up with a love of horses, which she had her whole life. On April 16th, 1948, Lorraine married the love of her life, Jim Wells. They square danced for over 50 years. She loved camping and enjoyed the cabin at Clear Lake for many years. They also took many trips to BC while Marlene lived there. She had different jobs in retail, but her favourite job was working as a nurse's assistant for Dr. Grube. She loved music, reading and singing in the church choir. Lorraine was a faithful member of the United Church in Brandon. Lorraine will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A private family service for Lorraine was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Friday, July 10th, 2020 with Rev. Milo Spooner Craig officiating. Interment followed at Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Lorraine may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 4B-457-9th Street, Brandon, MB, R7A 4A9.
