I remember a wonderful caring mother of a good friend. She was at my wedding and my wifes funeral. I don't think she was feeling that well when she came to my wifes visitation but she was old school and did what she felt was important. I'm going to miss her.

Mary Lou, for me, will forever be that wonderful, lovely and spirited teenage girl I knew as a member of the Douglas "Clan" living on Avenue Road in Toronto. The particular years were the last of the 1940s when Mary Lou's husband, Al, and I played football and basketball for Lawrence Park high school and Mary Lou was always there cheering us on to a hoped for victory. Mary Lou and Al had a marvelous marriage and long life as partners but I can only claim to have known them as two young and engaging people who fell in love as high school sweethearts. I will always hold dear those long ago times and memories of Mary Lou. And today, in my sadness of saying goodbye to Mary Lou, I pray she will now be blessed with eternal peace and happiness.

Day staff Mount Hope posted a condolence
To the Dickinson Family...... As staff we were more than happy to care for such a lovely lady. Even though we didnt know her before her illness, we could see what a wonderful and caring person she was thru flowers, visitors of friends who truly were "friends". Al was a very stoic and supportive husband, one I hope our "husbands" will be at our time of need. Every death for us is so tough, we quickly become attached to some and Mary Lou was definitely one of those people. She and your family will always be remembered on that floor and we will definitely miss her gorgeous smile and the beautiful friends that came to visit and a family who stuck by her side to the end. Take care Dickinson Family.....the day staff send big hugs to you all and take care of Al, he now carries the torch and strength for you all Lots of care.........Susan, Margaret, Lenie, and Inez

Uncle Al, Doug, Sue, Brian, Julie & Ben, My deepest sympathy to all of you now. Auntie Mary Lou was certainly an inspiration and my best memories were the sweaters she made us off and on when we were younger. I was so happy when Al, Mary Lou, mom & Bruce were able to take that fantastic trip to Greece and so appreciated all the visits to mom during her illness in Burlington. Much love to you all, Dale
