Obituary of Louise Elizabeth Woods (nee McBurney)

Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 where she volunteered for 23 years. Born in Brandon, Manitoba September 3, 1919. Trained as a nurse at Brandon General Hospital. Upon graduation she served two years as a nurse in Europe during WWII. On return she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at McGill University. Predeceased by a much loved husband, George in 1985. She was blessed by the birth of three sons; David (Karen), Gary (Cathy) and Brian (Susan) and seven special grandchildren, Dana (Matt), Cory, Shaun (Courtney), Kyleigh, Rebecca, Stephanie and Michael. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Dundas Street Centre United Church, 482 Dundas Street, London, on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Louise has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Good Samaritan Cupboard at Dundas Street Centre United Church. She considers herself to have lived a full and blessed life with family and many loving and caring friends. The family is extremely appreciative to all who have helped us in this journey.
