Obituary of Maurice Edward Gosney

October 13th, 2011 at Parkwood Hospital, London, Ontario. Born in Barrie, Ontario on March 23rd, 1923 to Clayton and Agnes Gosney. Leaving behind, until we meet again, his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Marie (White); Loving father of Susan (David Chandler), Jamie (Victoria) and John. Grandfather to Adam (wife Heather), Ryan, Daniel, Dawn and David and Great Grandfather to Lilly. An Army Veteran of WWll from 1942 to 1946 as a Signalman he was awarded the French and German Star. An employee of CN Rail for 41 years in Barrie, Capreol and London, Ontario as a train dispatcher retiring in 1982. Maurice’s love of his cottage on Georgian Bay left a lifelong imprint on his children and grandchildren. He loved nature and was a friend to all animals. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, October 16th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 397 Springbank Drive, London, on Monday, October 17th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with a private family committal in Carling Cemetery, Nobel, Ontario at a later date.
