Obituary of Harold William Collard

Collard, Harold William (Bill) – Peacefully on Sunday, January 16th, 2011 at Parkwood Veterans Hospital in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Kathleen. Loving father of Tom (Kathy) and Jim (Shelagh). Dear grandfather of Jennifer and Matthew. Predeceased by his two sisters Helen (Cliff) Argue and Grace Kimbley. Sadly missed by brothers in-law Walter Kimbley, Ed (Jennette) Forteski, Jim (Lil) Forteski, sister-in-law Arlene Colpitts, and extended family and friends. Born in Toronto, Bill trained as a pilot in the RCAF, served as a flight instructor, and then flew a tour of operations with 419 Squadron in WWII. In 1968 he left the Air Force and taught at Fanshawe College until his retirement in 1985. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Saturday, January 22nd, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bill are asked to consider the LHSF-Cancer Centre, 58 Squadron Air Cadets, or charity of choice.
