Hi Fluerette: I am truly sorry to learn of Gord's passing. Less than two months ago he asked me to be his replacement reader during a Sunday Mass as he was not in the best of health. I could not have imagined that he would be leaving us so soon. Gord was such a kind and gentle person! I know our Heavenly Father and his angels have welcomed him and taken away the pain. I trust that in time the pain of his loss will be lessened and you will be happy to have loved and been loved by such a person. Sincere condolences to you and your family. Daphne

Across the miles we are sending all our love and prayers to you, Aunt Fleurette, and your family during this time of loss. I admire your strength, perseverance and the choices you made to allow Uncle Gord to die with dignity at home surrounded by those who loved him. That could not have been easy. May your sorrow fade in time and be replaced by fond rememberances. I think a celebration of Gord's life is very fitting since our lives were that much better for having known and loved him.

Dear Fluerette, I was very saddened to hear about Gord's passing. I know only too well the pain of losing a husband, but God will bless you with the strength you need to go on. It has been many years since we were neighbours on Hickory Blvd, but I remember you both, as though it were only yesterday. Dear Fleurette, Keith, Marc and Greg; First and foremost, my deepest and sincerest of condolences to you all during this most difficult time. I can't help but smile when I think of Uncle Gordon for it was just on the September long weekend that I was met with watching a Talbot family celebration of my Mom and Dad's first Christmas together as a married couple and who should I see in the family movie? You and Uncle Gordon and one of the boys, as a little one! I was most captured by the way Uncle Gordon looked as it was exactly how I have remembered him looking, handsome and full of smiles. It was easy to see how you, Aunt Fleurette and you boys, all adored and loved him the way you did which carried on right up until his passing. That kind of family commitment and connection is rare but, like most precious jewels, of the most precious value when it is found and so carefully nurtured. While I find myself fighting back tears thinking of the loss of Uncle Gordon, I can't help but smile and be thankful that he is now free and at home with God. My thoughts and prayers continue for the four of you and your families during this time and may God continue to hold you and keep you. Peace be with you.

Dear Fleurette and family; I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband and father , friend and amazing volunteer "Gord". I worked at Canadian Blood Services until recently and as you know, Gord was our volunteer driver - Gord without hesitation helped us with our various groups ensuring blood donors arrived safely to our clinic. I will never forget his thoughtful consideration for others and of course his wonderful sense of humour - a true gentleman - and he'll be truly missed - Thank you Gord!! Sincerely, Erin Hakvoort

Dear Fleurette, I was saddened to read of Gordon's death in the Northern News. He was such a pleasant and congenial gentleman and policeman during your Kirkland Lake years. We hope you are managing to cope with your loss. To help cheer you up, please remember all the fun and good times we had working in the basement of the old Kirkland & District Hospital. We certainly made the best of a bad situation! Sincerely, Wendy van Vianen Summerland, British Columbia.

The rather heart of your writing even though appearing reasonable originally, did not settle correctly with me personally following some time. Someplace throughout the sentences you actually managed to make me a believer but only for a short whilst. I nevertheless have got a problem with your leaps in logic and you may do nicely to fill in those breaks. Should you really can accomplish that, I could surely be fascinated.
