Obituary of Stuart Dickson Tennant

TENNANT, Stuart Dickson - Stuart Tennant of London, Ontario died August 1, 2010 at the age of 65 at Parkwood Hospital in London. He attended Oakridge High School in London, where he played high school football. He also attended Ryerson College. Stu worked in a variety of fields but the things he brought to every area of his life, were his kindness and compassion towards those around him and his humor. He was a successful salesman. He was named Salesman of the Year for Allied Movers, winning a trip to PEI. He had a passion for life and a love for fishing. Stu volunteered much of his time with charitable organizations including Make a Wish Foundation helping kids with terminal illnesses, SOAR, an organization that helps military personnel at home and abroad and the Salvation Army, where he was also employed. Stu had a strong faith in the Lord and was an inspiration to all around him with his positive outlook and bravery in his final days and weeks. Stu was the loving father of Alana (Tennant) White (Kurt), cherished grandfather of Kaylen and Noah White, beloved brother of Jim Tennant (Elaine), Derek Tennant (Sue), John Tennant (Barb), Judy (Tennant) Davies, Caroline (Tennant) Milics (Mario), Mac Tennant (Pam), Midge Tennant and Cathie (Tennant) Payne (Ken), half brother Jack Brundritt (Angie). Stu was predeceased by his parents Hawley and Jean Tennant, his former wife, Sheila McConnell and his beloved sister, Heather. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, including long time friend, Judy Jones. Relatives and friends may visit the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London Ontario N6H 4L1 on Saturday August 7 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Woodland Cemetery.
