Obituary of Harold Beal

Harold C. Beal of Eugene, Oregon passed away on January 14, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born January 30, 1929, in Ogallala, Nebraska to parents Barnard L. and Thelma E. Beal. He married Loletta Beal on March 3, 1950 in Eugene, Oregon.Harold enlisted the US Navy at age 17, and following training was assigned to the Occupation Forces, where he spent two years after the surrender of Japan in World War II.He retired in 1991 after working 43 years in the wood products industry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 83, and a former member of the Eugene Elks and Eugene Moose Lodge.He is survived by his wife Loletta (Lee), a daughter Teresa Nyjordet, 2 grandsons Jacob Nyjordet, and Nathan Nyjordet, and 5 great grandchildren Tyler, Samantha, Kiana, Kobe, and Kaydin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlyce, and a grandson Eric Allwander.On Wednesday, January 27th, there will be a public viewing from noon to 1:00, at Lane Memorial Garden (5300 W. 11th) followed by a funeral service at 1:00.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.or the Disabled American Veteran’s Society.
