Obituary of Cynthia Johnson

Cynthia Johnson was the third child born to Oscar Charles and Anna Laura (nee Cottman) Davis on June 8,1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Davis family relocated to the Los Angeles, California area in 1945 where Cynthia attended 99 Street Elementary School, Samuel Gompers Jr High School and John C Fremont High School. Cynthia received Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and followed that commitment in water baptism. She attended several churches with her family before becoming an active member of Holmes Avenue Church of God which later became First Church of God, Inglewood, California. Cynthia worked for the County of Los Angeles for many years and at the time of her retirement she was an Administrator in the District Attorney's Office, Child Support Division. Cynthia relocated to Roseburg, Oregon in 1993 and then to Salem, Oregon in 2006 where she served faithfully at Roseburg Garden Valley Christian Assembly and Our Savior's Lutheran Church respectively. Cynthia enjoyed spending time with family, extensive travel and supporting various charities and ministries. Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband Robert Johnson Sr., parents Reverend O. C. and Anna Davis, three of her siblings Gwendolyn Hankerson, Winifred Nichols and Duane Davis Sr; two brothers-in-law David Hankerson Jr and Nathaniel Gainer. Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory two daughters Kim Cox, Kelly Hicks (Stan), two sons Robert Johnson Jr (Kyrina) and Steven Johnson; three grandsons Jonathan Wiggins, Jordan Wiggins and Lyzander Johnson; two great-granddaughters Jasmine Wiggins and Jordyn Wiggins; two sisters Jennie Parker and Paula Poma, a sister-in-law Jacqueline Gainer, two brothers-in-law Keith Poma and Mark Nichols and a host of relatives and friends.
