Obituary of Glen King

1.Glen King was born in Lorane, Oregon to Samuel D. and Anna L. (Sharp) King on August 7th, 1922. He worked most of his life in the timber industry in and around Lane County. Glen served in the United States Army during World War II. He was active in the community as a long-time Lions Club member and supporter of the Eugene Mission.Glen and his first wife Peg were married May 3rd, 1941. Peg passed on February 1, 1992. Together they raised 3 children; Glen (Duke) and wife Marian, daughter Linda and husband Ken May, his eldest daughter Kathy King (proceeded him in death). Glen leaves a family legacy of 8 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.Glen married Ruby Hensley on March 13, 1994. Glen’s extended family includes Ruby’s 3 children; Billy Hensley and wife Carol, daughter Sibyl and husband Mike Birch, and youngest son Ray Hensley and wife Kathy, 5 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.A Memorial Service will take place on July 3rd, 2016 at Lane Memorial Gardens 5300 W 11th Ave., Eugene, OR. Donations to Eugene Mission in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
