Obituary of Gerald Edwards

Gerald was born to Mary and Rupert Edwards on the family farm near Junction City. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1948 and OSU in 1952 with a degree in Agriculture and an ROTC officer. He married Marjorie Flanagan on June 22, 1952. They had five children: Sue Huntley of Junction City, Nancy Warren (Dan) of Philomath, Bart Edwards of Junction City, Curtis Edwards (Shelley) of Gold Beach, and Sally Cotter (Norman) of Texas. Gerald has six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He lost Marjorie to cancer in 1992. He entered the Army in Ft. Benning, Georgia right after college, serving this country with the 25th division 101st Airborne as a 1st Lieutenant in Korea. After the service he returned to the family farm on River Road, outside of Junction City. There he farmed for 50 years. Gerald was a past Master of Junction City Masonic Lodge, past School Board member, past Fire Board member and lifelong member of the Junction City United Methodist church. Gerald married Evelyn Parnell in 1994 and her children are: Deborah Donaldson (Andy) of Hawaii, Cindy DeHollander of Eugene, Lori Larkey (David) of Eugene and Henry Parnell (Wendy) of Eugene. Sharing her six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at the top of the hill in Rest Lawn Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 9th.
