Obituary of Bessie Champeaux

Bessie was born to November 30, 2012, in Bedford, Iowa, to parents Lyman W. and Gertrude L. Smith. She married Carl B. Rombold on December 24, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa. They had three children from this union. He died in September of 1972. Bessie married Kenneth W. Champeaux on November 30, 1980. Kenneth died in February of 2005 in Eugene.Bessie (Bobbie as she was known to family and friends) spent a good deal of her life in the country, growing up on a farm in Iowa and also living on raches in Montana, California, and Oregon. She loved horses and road 14 miles round trip her first year of high school. She later moved back to Des Moines to finish her education and attend business college.She and Kennth loved ballroom dancing and attended all the Senior clubs as well as the Eagles, Elks, and Moose of which they were members. She loved Gardening, flowers, reading, camping with family and friends, and spending winters in Arizona with family and friends with their motorhome.She is survived by her daughter Carol R. Chapman and husband Gary of eugene, son Richard L. Rombold and wife Jackie of Springfield, and son James K. Rombold and wife Peggy of Eugene. She is also survied by a brother Dr. John W. Smith and wife Geri of Tuscon, AZ, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
