Beatrice Velma Cameron (nee Wilson)
1921 ~ 2010
Beatrice Cameron, resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, passed away quietly in her sleep, with family at her side, on December 23, 2010 at North Peace Care Centre in Fort St. John, British Columbia. She was 89 years of age. Bea was born in Colgate, Saskatchewan on August 1, 1921 to parents Ray and Laura Wilson (nee Simpson), moved to the Peace River area in 1929, and in 1939 married Alex R. Cameron in Dawson Creek where they farmed and raised five children.
Bea was predeceased by her husband Alex, her son Arthur, her brothers, Floyd, Elgin, Earle, and Jack, sister Marjory and sister Alma Townsend. She leaves to mourn her children, Ken of Red Deer, AB, Connie (Dale) Myers of Slocan, BC, Mary (Ernie) Zimmer of Fort St. John, BC, Judy (Garett) Nicols of Las Vegas, NV, and daughter-in-law Inge Cameron (nee Johannsen) of Dawson Creek, BC, six grandchildren, David Myers, Susan Myers, Larry Zimmer, Bob Zimmer, Lance Nicols and Eroca Nicols and 11 great grandchildren.
Bea loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed many crafts but her favorite was socializing with her many friends, neighbors and family. Her friends are invited to a gathering to honour her life, to be held in June 2011. Her ashes will be buried in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery, Dawson Creek, British Columbia at a later date. She will be greatly missed by her family and her friends. We love you Grandma.
