Obituary of Ruby Trail
Ruby Trail
1918 – 2010
Gwendolyn Ruby Cade was born to John and Margaret Cade on July 17, 1918 in Red Deer, Alberta. The family moved to the homestead south of Pouce Coupe, in 1930. Ruby was one of eight children and has one surviving sibling; her youngest brother Ted.
Ruby married Stewart Trail on November 14, 1941. Together they had four daughters; Peggy, Terry, Carol and Celia. Those four girls gave her 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
We used to go and watch the Pouce parade with her at Trembly house, where she lived for twenty years. Ruby had a full life and saw a lot in her 92 years, and her family is going to miss her terribly.
Ruby passed away on December 30, 2010 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at 92 years of age.
Ruby was predeceased by her husband Stewart; siblings Grace, Alice, Pearl, May, Tom, and Bill and her daughter Celia. She is survived by her daughters Peggy Rurka , Terry (Harold) Lindballe and Carol Brisson; grandchildren Stewart Rurka, Darryl Rurka, Gloria Roker, Ruby Lindballe, Tom Lindballe, Arthur Brisson, Danielle Desharnais, Dianna Hall, Terina Dyck, Kathy Dewolf, Dale Lindballe, Donna Mann, Lyle Lindballe, Sharon Howe, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and brother Ted Cade.
A memorial service was held on January 6, 2011 at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel, Dawson Creek, British Columbia, with Reverend Marilyn Carroll officiating.
