Obituary of William Edward Formaniuk
William Edward Formaniuk
1925- 2012
Bill was born November 10, 1925 in Three Hills Alberta, the third son to Alex and Nellie Formaniuk.
The family moved to a homestead near Abee, Alberta where 3 more children were born. Moving to Edmonton in his late teens Bill began working with the railway, between Winnipeg, Vancouver and Prince Rupert. He then worked at a meat packing plant and for a short time in Uranium City before moving to Dawson Creek, BC with Imperial Oil in 1960.
Missing his young family and tired of travelling, Bill retained a job with Finning where he worked until taking early retirement after 20 years of service.
Bill passed away on June 12, 2012 at the age of 86 years after a short illness. Bill is survived by: his wife Muriel; daughters, Bev (Randal Groth), Linda (Shell Watson); sons, Wayne (Janie) and Dean; grandchildren, Brittney, Jared and Lexi Read; Rorie, Carson and Belinda Formaniuk, Laine and Chris MacTavish; great grandson Trevor Formaniuk; brothers, Walter Formaniuk, Lance Bohush and sister Olga Ropchan; several brother in-laws, sister in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill will be missed by his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed life, sports, outdoors, and CNN and also teasing his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
The family would like to thank: Dr. M. Meyer and hospital staff for his care, The Royal Purple for the lunch and Peggy Bergeron for officiating at his Celebration of Life Service which was held on June 20, 2012.
