Douglas Lyle Templeton, a long-time resident of Chetwynd B.C., passed away suddenly on September 6th 2012 at the age of 54. Doug was born in Dawson Creek B.C on July 20th 1958, to his parents Marjorie (Robinson) and Sandy Templeton. He was the fifth child, and the baby of the family. Doug grew up and attended school in Dawson Creek B.C. There he made many lifelong friends and met his future wife Alma. After marrying, he moved to Chetwynd B.C. to follow his job at West Fraser. A job he had great pride in and held for over 33 years up until his passing. Soon after arriving in Chetwynd, Doug’s only son Max Templeton was born.
Doug was a loving, caring, often funny, and stubborn man. He enjoyed time with family, renovating his house and reading Archie comics. In his later years, he enjoyed camping with close friends Melissa and Ed, and road trips/lunches with Phil. He was so many things in life to those he loved: son, brother, nephew, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and a great friend. He is greatly missed by his son Max (Vanessa) , grandchildren Michael and Layla, brothers Don and Randy Templeton, sister Marilyn Templeton, nephews James and Richard (Sherida) Nicholson, their children Koral, Jordyne, Keiran, Tessa, and Caden. He is predeceased by his father Sandy Templeton, mother Marjorie Robinson, step father Russ Robinson, and eldest sister Glenda Doyle.
A graveside service was held at Brookside Cemetery in Dawson Creek on September 21st 2012 with family and close friends. A celebration of life was held in Chetwynd B.C. at the Fellowship Baptist Church on September 22nd, 2012 with Pastor Bill Evans officiating. A moving eulogy was read by long-time friend Ron Wills.
