William Kenneth Wolfe (Ken) passed away at the QE II hospital on Saturday October 13, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Ken was born in Round Hill Alberta in 1933 to Carl and Marjorie Wolfe. He spent his childhood in Edmonton
In 1954, Ken married Christine Bjerkseth and they raised two sons, Bill and Terry. Their early years were spent in Burdett, and then Camrose until moving to Grande Prairie in 1970. Ken worked for Canfor, farmed in the Peoria district, managed McGavins and owned and operated the Village Bake shop in Grande Prairie. Ken sold the bakery in 2004 and spent his retirement working on his stained glass hobby, travelling and visiting with friends.
Ken is survived by Christine Wolfe, sons Bill (Edie) and Terry (Yvonne), grandchildren: Travis (Tina), Riley (Camille),Sarah (Randall), Jason (Andrea), Tyler, Leanne (Craig), and great granddaughter Haiden.
Ken was predeceased by his parents and sisters Audrey and Phyllis.
Funeral services were held at the Golden Age Centre on Friday, October 19th at 1:00 pm. Interment in the Emerson Trail Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grande Prairie SPCA 12220 – 104th Avenue, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 8A8..
