Obituary of John Ernest Maxwell

John Ernest Maxwell known as Jack Maxwell 1932 – 2013 Surrounded by his loving family, a kind generous loving man, John (Jack) Ernest Maxwell, passed away quietly on Jan 13, 2013 in Campbell River BC. Jack was born on February 24, 1932 in Pouce Coupe, British Columbia to Howard and Anna Maxwell. He joined his siblings George, May, and Betty. They were raised in Cherry Point, Alberta on the banks of the Peace River. In 1962 Jack met and married his wife Dee (Brune). They homesteaded in Cleardale where they raised their four children. In 1976, they moved to Bear Canyon where they lived for 9 years, then to Manning Alberta for 3 years. In 1987 while on a trip with friends through the Stewart Cassiar Hwy, Jack and Dee fell in love with the area and moved to Iskut, British Columbia. Throughout his life Jack was a farmer, rancher logger, truck driver, inventor, and prospector among other things. Jack's many interests included hunting, fishing, chuckwagon racing, camping with his family, boating with his buddies and playing music. Living in Iskut allowed Jack to retire enjoying his love for hunting and fishing with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife Dee, his children Kim (Dale) Rowe, Tammy (Herb) Bahm, Howard (Cindy) Maxwell, and Angela (Ken) Brandt, his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his siblings, their extended families and his many friends. A celebration of Jack's life was held June 15, 2013 at 1pm at the Cherry Point Hall in Cherry Point, Alberta. Jack is the one holding the guitar.
