Fred Roscher was an inspiration to our family. He became our children's honorary grandfather soon after we met and they love him dearly, as we do. Always a smile and a loving word, he loved his Lord, his family and his friends. We will miss him but rejoice knowing that he is rejoicing in Heaven now. We'll see you later Fred, thank you for being a wonderful part of our lives.

To the Family of Mr. Roscher. I am so sorry to learn of his recent passing. I'm across the street at 407 Allen Ave. and remember when he was in good health and always busy doing something in his yard or in his shed. He was always a pleasant and friendly neighbor. I know all the fond memories you must have of him. They'll get you through the rough times. My God Bless you all.

We moved to Hopewell in the summer of 1960. My first job was delivering newspapers for the Hopewell News. Fred brought them every day to the Gulf gas station on City Point Road just down from the then High School. We rolled them and then bicycled around nearby neighborhoods.
He sponsored a trip to Va. Beach for anyone who got two new subscriptions. I got a couple and went with Fred and some other paperboys to the beach. We drove down on a Saturday morning, rented floats, rode waves all day, and drove back that evening. It was my first of many trips to Va. Beach. I still read the Hopewell News (on line, of course) and I still love riding the waves when I get the chance. Thanks, Fred, for introducing me to the beach. Rest in peace.

We send our thoughts and prayers for the family. Praise the Lord Fred knew Christ as his personal savour
We send our thoughts and prayers to the family in their great loss. But praise the Lord Fred is with our Lord now. We remember the good times we had with Fred and Genevieve when visiting Hopewell. They introduced us to the game UpWords which I (Helen) like very much.
