Obituary of Lois Payton

On September 29, 2016 Lois passed peacefully in her sleep from a massive stroke. She will be laid to rest by her husband Clifford Payton who preceded her in death. Lois (Elaine) was born in Yankton, S.D. She made Eugene her home in 1959. In 2012 she moved to the Park Rose Chateau in Portland, Oregon where she enjoyed an active and full life. She is survived by her only sister and three brothers. Also four daughters, Brenda Holcomb of Dallas, TX, Sandra Nettles of Portland, OR, Theresa Corbitt of Huntsville, AR, and Joy Allen of Eugene, OR.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. Many others were dear to her heart. There will be a visitation on Friday, October 7, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Lane Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon reception following the service.
