Obituary of Connie Renee Bowden-Janisse

Connie Renee Bowden-Janisse, age 61, passed away on Jan. 12, 2020, after fighting a brave battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Connie will be cremated and interred in the Springfield Memorial Gardens Cemetery alongside her parents. Connie was born Dec. 12th, 1958, in Springfield, OR, to George L. and Betty M. (Hort) Bowden. She loved collecting jewelry, working puzzles, reading, her dogs, and time with her family. She married, firstly, to Ivan Van Kampen, on June 27, 1981, in Springfield, OR. Secondly, she married Martin Janisse, on Dec. 19, 2003, in Eugene, OR. She always lived in the Eugene/Springfield area. Connie had no children of her own, but lovingly raised her step-son, Jamie Van Kampen. She is survived by her husband, Martin; her sisters, Joanne Miller (Bill), Nancy Hagen (Jim), and a brother, Larry Bowden (Cheryl) all from Cottage Grove, OR; two nephews, Devin Miller, of Eugene, and Brandon Hagen, of Springfield; three nieces, Shalene McMurray (Sean), Lexie Gotlieb, and Lacie Rhodes (Mitch), all of Cottage Grove. Preceding Connie in death are her parents, and her step-son, Jamie Van Kampen, on Feb. 16, 2001. Connie was a fun loving person who had a special love for animals. She was a great crafter and artist. She will be remembered with a smile and will always be loved and missed. Arrangements entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
