Obituary of Mary Jane Ferren

The funeral will be held March 22 for Mary Jane Ferren of Creswell, who died March 18 at the age of 75. Her family chose not to list the cause of death.Ferren was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Guadelupe, NM, to James and Truett Sexton Baughman. She married Patrick Ferren in Lordsburg, N.M. on April 16, 1946.She completed high school and was a homemaker. She lived in New Mexico until 1947, when she moved to Oregon. She settled in Creswell four years ago.She enjoyed gardening, nature, birds, sewing, and volunteer work. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1956 and a charter member of the Fall Creek and La Pine churches. She was also a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union and Dorcus.Survivors include her husband; four sons, Roger and Marc, both of Springfield, Jim of Spokane and Robin of Creswell; a daughter, Patti Delk of La Pine; three brothers, Jim and Frank Baughman of Californa and gordon Tietjen of California; a sister, JoAnn Reel of Eugene; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A son, Martin, died in 1948, a great-grandson, Nathan Ferren, died in 1998, and a grandson, Shaun Ferren died in 2002.Saturday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
