David ColumpusDavid Tobey Columpus of Eugene died Sept. 1 of complications of cancer at age 78. No service is planned.He was born June 28, 1931, in Plymouth, Mich., to David and Tuli Goffe Columpus. He married Barbara Smith in August 1950 in Dearborn, Mich. They later divorced. He married Jerri Powell in November 1977 in San Diego.He earned master’s degrees in library science, special education and guidance and counseling. He was a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the state of California.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Smith of San Diego and Sara Menzel of Marquette, Mich.; a sister, Janice Gottesman of Palm Desert, Calif.; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
