Obituary of Aileen Wartenbee

Aileen WartenbeeCROW – A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Veneta for Aileen “Granny” Wartenbee of Crow, who died Sept. 10 of age-related causes. She was 95. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in EugeneShe was born July 21, 1914, in Rockford, Ill., to Alex and Katherine Anderson Thompson. She married Howard Wartenbee Sept. 30, 1933, in Watertown, S.D. He died Dec. 16, 2002.She graduated from South Shore High School in South Shore, S.D. She was a farmer’s wife and homemaker.Survivors include a son, Russell Wartenbee of LaPine; four daughters, Ann Hansen of Crow, Kay Rau of Albany, Clarice Dornbusch of Brookings, and Loree Grabow of Rapid City, S.D.; and 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary.
