Obituary of Donal Iverson

Donal G. "Don" Iverson of Eugene died Oct. 9 of Parkinson's disease. He was 79. A celebration of life will be held later. He was born May 20, 1930, in Can-yon, Texas, to Vearl and Mary Sue Gray Iverson. He married Virginia Lanore Rigsby Jan. 24, 1953, in Canyon. He graduated high school in Canyon and later received bachelor's and master's degrees. He served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952. He was a teacher beginning in 1956 in Coburg, then taught at Marcola, first at the eighth-grade level and later at the high school. He retired in 1984. Survivors include his wife; and two daughters, Beth Leech of Grapeview, Wash., and Amy Iverson of Eugene. Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
