Obituary of Florence Marcus

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Florence Edith Marcus of Eugene, who died Oct. 11 of complications from pneumonia. She was 78. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Lane Memorial. She was born Jan. 27, 1931, in Yankton, S.D., to Peter and Marie Brockmuller Smith. She married Clark Lloyd Marcus in 1970. He later died. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in Cathlamet, Wash. She was a dental assistant for more than 30 years, and was owner of Marcus Electronics. Survivors include two sons, Don Ahrens of Eugene and Gary Ahrens of Kelso, Wash.; a daughter, Susan Holum of Clatskanie; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
