Obituary of Shirley South

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Shirley Mae South of Eugene, who died Oct. 18 of cancer. She was 79. She was born May 23, 1930, in Philip, S.D., to Clair and Margaret Struble. She married Herbert Eugene South on June 26, 1953, in Rapid City, S.D. She was a high school graduate and retired from Agripac after 21 years as a personnel manager. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Kris and Kim South, both of Eugene, and Kathy Garey of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a son, Mike South of Eugene; two brothers, Bob Struble of Chamberlain, S.D., and Mel Struble of Redding, Calif.; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
