Obituary of Robert Rice

Robert Rice Sr.Robert “Bob” Huntington Rice, Sr., of Eugene died Dec. 1 of age-related causes. He was 87. A private family service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.He was born June 14, 1922, in Putnam, Conn., to Trenor and Edna Rice. He married Helen E. Jacobs on Oct. 27, 1945, in Tillamook.He graduated from Windham High School in Willimantic, Conn., and from the Oregon Polytechnic Institute in Portland. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a head custodian with the Eugene School District.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert H. Jr., of Milwaukie, and Greg of Eugene; two brothers, Trenor A. Jr., of Connecticut, and John of Atlanta; and three grandsons and two great-granddaughters.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Disabled American Veterans
