Obituary of Jean Smith

Jean SmithA memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Eugene for Jean Ann Smith of Eugene, who died Dec. 1 of congestive heart failure. She was 78. A reception will follow.She was born Dec. 14, 1930, in Springfield, Mass., to Maurice and Leona Tracy Lynch. She married Richard Smith on Aug. 19, 1950, in Springfield, Mass.She worked as a word processor at the University or Oregon for 17 years.Survivors include her husband; a son, Douglas of Beaverton; two daughters, Sharon Keyser of Eugene and Leslie Turner of Beaverton; a sister, Joyce Rougeau of Springfield, Mass.; and three grandchildren.Private inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
