Obituary of Chiyoko Chapman

JUNCTION CITY — A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Community Fellowship in Eugene for Chiyoko Straub Chapman of Junction City, who died Dec. 10 of complications from pancreatic cancer. She was 62.She was born on March 13, 1947, in Miyako, Okinawa, Japan, to Matsu and Kanimega Tomori Sunagawa. She married Gene Chapman.She studied culinary arts in Okinawa and worked for 18 years at the University of Oregon’s housing and dining services.Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lisa Raffin of Junction City; a son, David Straub of Coburg; two brothers, Kanei and Kansho Sunagawa of Okinawa; and eight grandchildren.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
