Obituary of Charley Purcell

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eugene for Charley E. Purcell of Springfield, who died Dec. 7 of age-related causes. He was 78.He was born June 22, 1931, in Decatur, Ga., to George and Edna Seymore Purcell. He married Ruby Nash on May 20, 1960, in Maryland.He was a high school graduate. He served in the National Guard.He worked as an aerospace industry engineer and as a tropical fish store owner.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dawn Lee of Springfield; and two grandchildren.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
