Obituary of James Butcher

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at 2450 Spring Blvd., in Eugene, for James Butcher of Eugene, who died Dec. 6 at age 42. His family chose not to list the cause of death.He was born Oct. 6, 1967, in Chicago, to Leo and Ruth Tooke Butcher. His life partner, Robert Lang, died previously.He attended Lane Community College and the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Navy.Survivors include his father; four sisters, Shirley Butcher and Lenell Butcher, both of Chicago, Gloria Curtis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Deborah Cleveland of Eugene; and two brothers, Charles Butcher of Chicago and Alexandre Albert-Gattier of Eugene.
