Obituary of Lloyd Storie
Lloyd Walter Storie peacefully passed away at his home in Eugene, Oregon on November 10, 2016. He was born February 5, 1929 in Bigfork, Montana to Ross and Bessie Storie. Lloyd was drafted November 1, 1950 into the United States Army. Lloyd served in the Korean war from January 23, 1952 to September 23, 1952. Lloyd was awarded medals for his service in the Korean war. On January 22,1953 Lloyd married Leslie “Delores” Southmayd in Eugene, Oregon. She preceded him in death on January 1,1994. Lloyd was a very proud retired Eugene Firefighter. He was on the Eugene, Oregon force from February 2, 1953 until December 31, 1982 Lloyd was a long time member of the Elks Lodge in Eugene, Oregon. He recently received his 50 year pin. Lloyd had a passion for old cars, gun shows, collecting coins, vintage license plates, miniature liquor bottles, enjoyed reading, listening to music especially Elvis Presley. He enjoyed telling stories of his many hunting trips with friends, combat stories and his fun days filled with his many collections over the years. He is survived by: Susan Storie, Amani Zaidan, Amin Zaidan. Jeff (Pam) Storie, Judy Storie, Tyler (Heather) Storie, Malia (David) Schaefer, Logan (Erin) Storie, Sloan (Fiance Tim Walter) Storie. Robert “Bob” (Diane) Diens, Dave (Alicia) Diens, Tim (Crystal) Diens. Marion (Mel) Baker. Six wonderful Great Grandchildren: Liana 7.5yo, Liam 5.5yo, Maddie 9yo, Zach 6.5yo, Bay and Nova 17mos. And too many friends to list. In lieu of flowers, Lloyd has requested memorial contributions be made to Operation Warm.
