Hugh McKinleyA memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 at the Eugene City Hall Council Chamber for Hugh McKinley of Eugene, who died Nov. 7 of age-related causes at age 90. Inurnment will be private.He was born March 6, 1919, in Portland to Charles and Nellie Higgins McKinley. He married Mildred Griffin on July 2, 1943.He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Reed College in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a captain in Germany.He served as city manager for the cities of Sutherlin, Grants Pass, Eugene, San Diego and Glendale, Calif.Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles of Berkeley, Calif., and Kirk of Seattle; a daughter, Maria Delapoer of Albany; and three grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
