Obituary of Ervin Smith

A celebration of life will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eugene for Ervin N. Smith of Eugene, who died Dec. 23 of respiratory failure. He was 93. Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene, and private burial will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Eugene.He was born Aug. 12, 1916, in Buxton, N.D., to Carl and Clara Smith Peterson.He married Sylvia O. Ronning June 10, 1945, in Aberdeen, S.D. She died Sept. 29, 2006.He was a farmer and millworker, and the owner/operator of the Kiddie Korral Day Nursery.Survivors include four daughters, Karen Suiter of Lacey, Wash., and Linda Pratt, Susan Breuer and Gerri Sweeney, all of Eugene; a son, Allen Smith of Eugene; two brothers, Herman Peterson and Charles Peterson, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.Remembrances to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
