Vernon KilpatrickVernon Kilpatrick of Eugene died Dec. 29 of age-related causes. He was 89. No service is planned.He was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Grand Island to Eber and Iva Kilpatrick. He married Jean Mildred Gilson on June 26, 1948, in Eugene. He graduated from Keno High School and from the University of Oregon. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Zippo, and was a partner in a wood products business.Survivors included his wife; two daughters, Sandy Herz of Eugene, and Nancy Michaels of Salem; two sons, Stephen of Eugene, and Michael of Cheshire; and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
