Obituary of Mason Ludwig

Mason LudwigA memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Eugene for Mason H. Ludwig of Eugene, who died Dec. 30 of age-related causes. He was 89.He was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Bayfield, Colo., to Carl Bernhart and Lola Hammond Ludwig. He married Ruth Ann Bennett on Nov. 30, 1963, in Eugene.Ludwig held a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s in education. He worked as a teacher until his retirement in 1984. He worked as a custodian at Westminster Presbyterian Church until 2007.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lola Thorness of Beavercreek; a son, Robert of Woodinville, Wash.; and a brother, Ernst of Monarch Beach, Calif.Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Shriner’s Hospital in Portland or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
