Obituary of Donald Bainter

Donald BainterA celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Eugene Country Club for Donald Bainter of Eugene, who died Dec. 5 of multiple myeloma. He was 82.He was born May 26, 1927, in Yakima, Wash., to Olin and Thyri Thordorson Bainter. He married Alice Gabrielson on Oct. 27, 1951, in Seattle.He attended Washington State University and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.He was the branch manager at United Pacific Reliance Insurance Co. and retired in 1986 after 35 years.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gail Lamm of West Linn and Gwen Watt of Portland; a son, Dean of Portland; and five grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
