Obituary of Leona James
JUNCTION CITY — A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 9 at Grace Baptist Church in Eugene for Leona Jane James of Junction City, who died Dec. 14 of cancer. She was 69.She was born May 15, 1940, in Sheridan, Wyo., to Joe and Thelma Hibbler Tryon. She married Allan James in 1958. They divorced in 1983, and he died this year.She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. She worked at McDonnell-Douglas in Long Beach for 10 years before becoming a homemaker.Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Yoncalla and Jerry of Salem; a daughter, Judy James of Belvedere, Calif.; four sisters, Norma Clevenger of Eugene, Joan Paett of Salmon, Idaho, Diana Bevier of Marcola and Bonnie Tryon of Junction City; three brothers, Larry Tryon of Junction City, Dennis Tryon of Eugene and Dale Tryon of Wasilla, Alaska; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; A son, Steve James, died in 1961.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
