Obituary of Mary Sarro

The funeral will be at noon Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Eugene for Mary Elizabeth Sarro of Eugene, who died Jan. 6 of age-related causes. She was 89.Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and committal with military honors will be at Lane Memorial Gardens after the service.She was born May 31, 1920, in East Youngstown, Ohio, to Gregory and Victoria Voller Bulis. She married Joseph A. Sarro on Aug. 8, 1945, in Jamaica, Long Island, New York. He died in September 1974.She graduated from high school and business college. She served in the U.S. Navy Waves for 21 months during World War II. She worked as a financial secretary.Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Flesher of Eugene; two sons, Joseph and Gregory, both of Eugene; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Lane Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
