Crockett StearnsCrockett L. Stearns of Eugene died Jan. 22 of age-related causes. He was 86. A family gathering will be held at Sun Valley, Idaho, in the early summer.He was born Dec. 25, 1923, in Yakima, Wash., to A. Crockett and Mildred Stone Stearns. He married Norma Tipple on July 16, 1949, in Yakima.He graduated from Yakima Senior High School, received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Washington and received a second bachelor’s degree in education from Central Washington University.He served in the Navy during World War II, from 1943 to 1946, as a Pharmacist’s Mate Second Class.He was a science teacher in Washington, worked as a pharmaceutical representative for 15 years and was a stockbroker from 1967 to 1987.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jane Hoselton of Creswell and Jill Stephens of Hillsboro; two sons, Patrick and Peter, both of Hailey, Idaho; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to the South Eugene High School Ski Team, or to hospice.
