Obituary of Harvey Moon

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene for Harvey Arden Moon of Vancouver, Wash., formerly of Eugene, who died Jan. 21 of prostate cancer. He was 99. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment at West Lawn Memorial Park will follow the funeral.He was born April 24, 1910, in Blaine to Dee and Adelaide Gray Moon. He married Madelyn Hoyt on Jan. 20, 1969, in Reno, Nev.He was the co-owner with his brother, Ormand, of Moon Brothers Logging Co., from 1946 to 1972.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Janet Miller and Jacquie Moon, both of Portland; two sons, Kenneth Moon of Boring and Bob Guard of Maupin; a brother, Ormand Moon of Lodi, Calif.; and 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.A daughter, Joyce Moon Miller, and a son, Don Guard, died previously.Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
