Charles SchniderThe funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Eugene for Charles “Bob” Schnider of Eugene, who died Jan. 31. of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 81.Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene, and burial will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park. A reception at St. Jude’s will follow the funeral.He was born July 27, 1928, in Salem, to Aloysius and Anna Bent Schnider. He married Angela Kropp Oct. 15, 1948, in Salem. She died June 10, 1998.He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and Oregon College of Education in Monmouth. He served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948.He spent his career with U.S. Bank, beginning in Salem, then in McMinnville and then in Eugene, where he retired as manager of the branch at Oakway and Coburg roads in 1986.Survivors include two daughters, Jill Schnider of Eugene and Julie Hammons of Springfield; a son, Doug Schnider of Eugene; two sisters, Mary Anne Stults of Ontario, Ore., and Gertrude Jackson of Portland; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
