Edward RagozzinoThe funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Eugene for Edward Ragozzino of Eugene, who died Jan. 30 of cancer. He was 79. A celebration of life will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Eugene.He was born June 25, 1930, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John and Emma Monetti Ragozzino. He married Roxy Thomas on July 28, 1977, in Portola Valley, Calif.He held a bachelors degree in broadcasting from the University of Oregon, as well as a masters degree in speech from the UO. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war.Ragozzino taught theater at South Eugene High School for 12 years. He was the founder and head of the performing arts department at Lane Community College for 18 years and founder, director and producer of Eugene Festival of Musical Theater.He also was a national television and radio voice-over talent.Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Laurabeth Wyatt and Kate Schafroth, both of Tualatin, Julie Edwards of La Habra Heights, Calif., and Elizabeth Allen of Eugene; two sons, Matt of Lake Oswego and John of Beaverton; two brothers, Aldo and John, both of Petaluma, Calif.; two sisters, Eleanor Butt of Bakersfield, Calif., and Rita Baum of Los Gatos, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.Inurnment will be Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene.
