Obituary of Richard Glidden

Richard GliddenRichard “Dick” Glidden of Deer Harbor, Wash., formerly of Lane County, died Feb. 15 at age 99. His family chose not to list the cause of death. A memorial service will be held later in Eastsound, Wash.He was born Dec. 23, 1910, in Evanston, Ill., to Jay and Lola Tabor Glidden. He married Joan Dexter on March 20, 1942, in Highland Park, Ill.He graduated from the Shattuck Military Academy in Faribault, Minn. He served as a first lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater during World War II.He worked as a general contractor.Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jonathan of Sacramento, Shelby of Eugene and Peter of Mercer Island, Wash.; and one granddaughter.Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
