Obituary of Viela Davis

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Viela Lucille Davis of Eugene, who died Feb. 14 of age-related causes. She was 88. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.She was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Red Lodge, Mont., to Lester and Martha Rheinhart Fauble. She married Irving Walker Davis on Dec. 24, 1938, in Vancouver, Wash. He died March 13, 1985.She graduated from Triangle Lake High School. She worked for more than 35 years at Fairfield Bowling Lanes in Eugene, which became Strike City, and retired in 2005 at age 83.Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Landstra of Veneta; a son, Bill Davis of Prineville; a sister, Iva Hogue of Springfield; a brother, Alton Fauble of Eugene; and five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.Arrangements by Springfield Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
