Obituary of DeAnna Fowler

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at 2360 W. Broadway in Eugene for DeAnna Fowler of Eugene, who died Feb. 12 of cancer. She was 70.She was born July 4, 1939, in Marysville, Idaho, to Charles and Mary Smith Humpreys. She married Robert Newson.She was the first female barber in Springfield and worked at that job for 38 years.Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Garn of Eugene and Mary Newson Skipper of Pleasonton, Calif.; a son, Thomas Newson of Eugene; two sisters, Marie Rangitsch of Mesa, Ariz., and Maxine Nussgen of Burley, Idaho; two brothers, Merle VanZante of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Lew Humphreys of Kimberly, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
