Obituary of Lester Libke

Lester LibkeA memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eugene for Lester W. Libke of Eugene, who died Feb. 19 of age-related causes. He was 89.He was born July 9, 1920, at Medical Lake, Wash. He married Betty Petersen on July 8, 1950, in Eugene.He attended the University of Oregon for two years. He served in the Army for 51/2 years during World War II, including four years in the South Pacific.He was a delivery supervisor for Shell Oil Co.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Parkison of Salem; two sons, Mark of Tucson, Ariz., and Kirk of Eugene; and one grandchild.
