Obituary of Cornelia A. Vergara
JUNCTION CITY —A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at the First Baptist Church in Junction City for Cornelia A. Vergara of Junction City, who died Feb. 18 of lymphoma. She was 84.She was born Jan. 10, 1926, in Ionia, Iowa, to Cecil and Isabelle Morse. She married the Rev. Roberto Vergara on Dec. 23, 1956, in Horton, Iowa.She received two master’s degrees and was a pilot, missionary, teacher and advocate for Hispanic families.Survivors include three sons, Marcos of Eugene, Carlos of Wheaton, Ill., and Tito of Seoul, South Korea; three sisters, Barbara Meerpink of Burlington, Vt., and Gertrude Morse and Jean Peters, both of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Darrell Morse of Greenville; and four grandchildren.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City.
