Obituary of Jean Fisher

Jean FisherJean S. Fisher of Eugene died March 2 of pancreatic cancer. She was 91. A memorial celebration is planned for later.She was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Tacoma, to Royer and Hilda Houck Schaeffer.She married George Fisher on Feb. 26, 1942, in Seattle. He died in Oct. 4, 1991.She graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle and attended the University of Washington. She worked as a secretary in the University of Washington history department for more than 20 years, retiring in 1980.Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Odermann of Creswell; a son, Peter of Seattle; a brother, Robert Schaeffer of Walla Walla, Wash.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Inurnment will be at the Arthur Wright Columbarium in Seattle. Arrangements by England’s Eugene Memorial Chapel.
